WWF Classic SummerSlam Moments!!!

I thought about talking a bit about classic SummerSlam moments since this is the last day of August in which I'm wondering where in the world did all the time go😲 My mind is usually always on the classic stuff so let's only talk about the first 9 which is 88 - 96. If you know your history, then none of this should be unfamiliar to you. First, here's the superbly fun WWF SummerSlam Theme by Jim Johnston, make sure you have this on loop while you are viewing My post😎

SUMMERSLAM 88 - In a toss-up with Wrestlemania IV, this was the true pinnacle of how great the WWF was then and that it seems like an actual sport and when things really mattered. In fact 86 - 89 was arguably the most important years when it comes to that factor. I loved it that Super Billy Graham was on commentary! My favorite match was the main event, The Mega Powers vs. The Mega-Bucks and Jesse the Body was the special guest ref!! I felt it was so epic and ideal to happen after all when we seen months prior. Amazing how Miss Liz took her dress off, it was so classy!

SUMMERSLAM 89 - This one was great. It was really cool that King Duggan wore face paint with Demolition! I loved how this main event was similar like the previous one in SS 88 with one of My all-time favorites Zeus promoting No Holds Barred!

SUMMERSLAM 1990 - 30th Anniversary!!! Oh boy, things are starting to change in the WWF, you can feel it! Jesse the Body is gone from the WWF just weeks prior and Piper takes his place! Sgt. Slaughter returns on the Brother Love show as a heel! Demolition now has three members and meets the Road Warriors from WCW the hard way though this was unfortunately the beginning of the end for Demolition. Kerry Von Erich wins the IC title! Wow, what an angle with Dusty & Sapphire and Macho King & Sherri and that swerve with the Million Dollar man! A first ever double main event with Hogan & the Warrior! This is one of My favorite SummerSlams of all and IMO is one of the best WWF/WWE events of all-time!

SPECIALE NOTE:

Here's Kerry Von Erich after he beat Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam 90. My Grandpa PoPo loved him :) I told the story before. When I got the August 1990 WWF Magazine with the Hart Foundation on it at Out 7-11 from My Grandpa MiMi, I took to My Grandpa's bike shop and showed him it. I also told him about Beefcake's horrible accident. He was bummed about that but I told him that he is being replaced by "The Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich. He's like wow, really? This is when I really found out how much My Grandpa like him and how much he watched in years before Me :)

SUMMERSLAM 91 - This one was very good, I loved the match with the Dragon and the build for the matches made in hell & heaven were so classic! Amazing how Sid's first WWF PPV appearance was a special guest ref!

SUMMERSLAM 92 - My favorite SummerSlam of all! I remember getting the WWF magazine at the time I believe it was either the May, June or July edition and on the back cover of it was Macho man vs. the Warrior (same pic as on the promo event pic) and on TV during WWF programming there was no word about this till later. I showed that to My Grandpa and he couldn't believe it, he's like how and why? It was a mystery as to how this was possible for a while till it developed on TV on Superstars & Prime Time Wrestling. The event was in England! Kamala returned, Repo Man (Smash of Demolition) fought Crush! Nailz destroyed Virgil! Oh yeah, the heel vs. heel match as HBK Shawn Michaels fought "The Model" Rick Martel...I thought this was such a great match and Sherri played her part so well! Oh yeah, the beginning of the Ultimate Maniacs!  For the first time ever the IC title is the main event on PPV with the Hitman and the Bulldog!

SUMMERSLAM 93 - This was such a different one. I loved the Jerry Lawler/Doink/Bret Hart stuff. Bittersweet about the Giant Gonzalez. Ludvig Borga's debut! All of the huge build up for Lex Luger and he wins by count-out.

SUMMERSLAM 94 - This is one of the most underrated of them all. Who sold out? Tatanka or Luger? Wow the match with Razor & Diesel! Alundra! Owen & Bret in the cage and the Bulldog returns! Oh wow I remember talkin' to one of My friends who was into wrestling, I was telling him that there is going to be a match with 2 Undertakers! he was like what?  Are you serious? How is that possible and I was telling believe Me, its gonna happen! The huge build up between The Undertaker vs. The Underfaker (Brian Lee)! The case is CLOSED! This was one of the most successful builds of any feud ever of all-time IMO!

SUMMERSLAM 95 - 30TH ANNIVERSARRY!!! This is one of My most favorite SummerSlams of all. I loved how everything was in 95, I know what people say about how bad it was and all of the stuff but I so beg the differ, IMO it was the best year ever in wrestling and the last of classic old style...I loved the way the WWF looked and the how the roster was...WCW too...just My fave! Skip and Sunny, she was so hot then! Gosh, can you believe Barry Horowitz got an actual PPV match? Undertaker & Kama! The 1-2-3 Kid and Hakushi! The Bul Twins! Issac Yankem DDS' debut...gosh I loved that build up! One of Alundra's last matches ever in the WWF and second last on PPV! Everybody always talks about the first ladder match @ WM X but really this rematch with HBK & Razor Ramon one one of the most underrated matches and is My fave of the two! Diesel legitimately gets hurt by King Mable...I loved King Mable, what a great time! WOW, Lex Luger's interference in this match was his last appearance ever in the WWF...the next week his was on WCW Nitro returning to the company and confronting Hulk Hogan!

SUMMERSLAM 96 - WWF was still in the New Generation phase while WCW was truly beginning the attitude era! I loved the earlier stuff in 96 but by this point the Warrior's return was over and certain aspects were looking bleak. This one has always been kinda up in the air for Me. The free for all sucked for Yokozuna :( The New Rockers and how about Sunny! Awesome match between the Undertaker & Mankind in the boiler room but it was quite shocking that Paul Bearer betrayed the taker and damn Vader lost... I absolutely hated that😖

There's My quick thoughts about classic SummerSlams! I didn't count anymore because things were changing so much in wrestling after 96 and doesn't fit in with the classic stuff IMO then again it is beginning to in these modern times. More great wrestling stuff & more coming soon😀

Triplemania XXXIII Highlights!!!

AAA's Triplemania was Saturday Night, and it was a superb show. You can tell that its WWE now however, it's as authentic as possible. If you haven't seen the entire show, here's the whole thing right here on WWE's YT Channel, it's about 3 hours so you really get a lot for free and people should really appreciate this :o Konnan, Corey Graves and JBL are on commentary.

Here's some of the highlights. The card was solid. I loved the battle royal and the main event was absolutely epic. El Grande Americano had his great promo and then entered the ring, I was like holy crap, that's Marcel Barthel aka Luwig Kaiser  He is great as this character. The thing is, Chad Gable is no long doing the gimmick or at least not for the time being. It would be awesome if they pull off the gimmick and he says...SEE, IT'S NOT ME :!: Here's the videos.

Now, the WWE Intercontinental Champion "Dirty Dom" wants to fight Vikingo at Worlds Collide next month in September, this is going to be excellent.

Well, that's it about Triplemania XXXIII, I'm grateful that I watched it. More coming soon :)

Hulk Hogan Tribute & Birthday Special!!!

First off, Hulk Hogan was one of My childhood heroes. Sadly, kids today will never know the magic that Hogan and wrestling in general in the 80s - the early 2000s unless their taught. How many guardians today are teaching their young ones important stuff of the past? I was a full blown Hulkamaniac much younger than 11. Wrestling was, is and forever will be a huge part of My life❕

WWE & NXT as well as TNA & AEW did this tribute to Hulk Hogan😰 NXT this past Tuesday was great on The CW with Mariah May aka Blake Monroe and others. It opened up with a big tribute to the "The Hulkster". I'm including the current Then, Now, Forever because you see Hulk Hogan first as well as Mack Man, Adre the Giant & The Ultimate Warrior :(

I want Tony Khan to say that he regrets what he said & did during 2020 about the great Hulk Hogan and his family, but I seriously doubt that he will ever😒 I hate that stupid politically correct and going with the current times and what TPTB wants😖

I'm glad that Tony Schiavone did this :)

Now, moving on to My own. Today is "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan's Birthday. For years and years I have memorized his B-Day. This is the first one that is now without him :(

Here's Hulk Hogan's B-Day special from 2014 on WWE Monday Night Raw, this was so darn cool with the legends especially with "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorf & "Rowdy" Roddy Piper :)

This will be an EXTREMLY SPECIAL SHOWCASE. This will be from 1990, 35 years ago this year :o First, before I start My item, I gotta post this video because this is how it all started, I was/am a Hulkamaniac at an early age and kids today have no idea how that is unless their taught by their guardians. So, do you remember when "The Hulkster" got squashed by the major heel lead by "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, The Canadian Earthquake on The Brother Love Show? Well, here's the iconic scene from the great Summer fun year of 1990😀

Now, Hulk was hurt bad by that monster. The WWF was urging it's fans that if your a Hulkamaniac, to write to him and send him your good well wishes. Well, in My child mind, I loved Earthquake because of his size but also I was very sad of what he did to Hogan. It was at the last days at Our great old house that I got a wonderful, I mean an absolutely superb Postcard from the WWF & Hulk Hogan😲

This is still one of My most prized pieces of wrestling history. I've only seen one other person online that has one and they didn't seem all that grateful, some of the plebians today are so fickled😖Here's the back of the Postcard and what it says❕

Now, here's this promo of Hogan thanking his fans and that he's ready to take on The Earthquake at WWF SummerSlam 90❕I remember this like it was yesterday when I first saw this of WWF Programming😃

Look at that date from Van Nuys California...August 31, 90...that's 35 years ago this year😀

Look at the Trademark next to Hulk Hogan's name. Also, there's the 1990 Copyright of Titan Sports. Also, there's what I was talking about, about Hulk Hogan's name and MARVEL :o As I've always said, look at those copyrights on your collectables regardless of what they are, the "supposed experts" never tell you to do so. I have been doing this since I was a youngster and I hope that if anybody is reading this, heeds My advice because they will be very glad that they did :)

For a special size comparison, here's My special WWF Hulk Hogan Postcard and My very first WWF Hasbro Wrestling Action Figure which was none other than "The Hulkster" himself...look at that pure history right there :o

Now, I'm not done yet for Hogan's B-Day. It was very late 92 or early 93. I saw a totally awesome Birthday Cake over at Schnucks on Iron Street that I deeply expressed earlier on in My VHS Westling Collection. It was a B-Day Cake of Hulk Hogan who left the WWF right after WrestleMania 8 in 92😳 Now, I could only find one picture of it from My Family Album stuff and I'm very thankful for it. When I went to the WWF House Show 91 special that I took pictures with My TMNT Camera. Well, here's My pic that I took with it...look at that :o

Here's a close-up of Hogan and a TMNT icon on the right

This was My 12th B-Day and it was something else. As you see, it says I'm #1 Hulkamaniac😀

I still have the special Hulk Hogan & WWF Emblems that made the Cake what it was. Here's the awesome Hogan one that got My attention all those years ago😮

Here's the 1992 Copyright of Titan Sports & Wilton Enterprises❕

Here's the great WWF Logo Emblem.

Here's the 1992 Copyright of Titan Sports & Wilton Enterprises❕

Here they both are together...LOOK AT THAT :)

Now, that there is one of My most special showcases with such historical items however, I didn't want to post these under bad circumstances like this😕 Happy Birthday to Hulk Hogan, one of My heroes :) More to come soon, until the next one, I'll see you around😎

WCW Clash of the Champions XXXI 1995 - 30TH ANNIVERSARRY!

Please Note: "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan shockingly passed away last week. I'm going to make a special tribute to him soon😥

Tonight marks the 30th Anniversary of WCW Clash of Champions 31 on August 6th, 1995, My fave year in wrestling❕

Here's the results.

Here' a tiny bit of what was seen during the broadcast on WTBS Superstation during much better & simpler times.

This is one of My all-time fave moments in wrestling when Hulk Hogan entered the Dungeon of Dooms's Cave with The Master King Iaukea and "The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan. Unexpectedly, he got choked out by The Giant then the DOD attacked him (The Zodiac Man, The Shark & "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala. The man they call Vader came to the rescue while "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, Macho Man Randy Savage & Sting was there to escort an injured Hogan out of the DOD's lair🎃

Now, right after that ended (it's still like that on Peacock), they aired the extremely brief but totally awesome Judge Dredd action figure two-pack commercial of the radical Mega Heroes series by Mattel. I'll never ever forget when My Grandparents got Me them at the old Target on Hampton & Chippewa around these superb fun times in 1995😀

That's all for now, more great stuff to come soon😎
